FAQs

(Frequently Asked Questions)

What denomination is Yosemite Lakes Community Church?

Yosemite Lakes Community Church is an interdenominational Christian church that welcomes all denominations as well as those who have not attended a church and are seeking to know about Jesus Christ.

What are your spiritual beliefs?

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. It reveals God Himself and His will for man. At Yosemite Lakes Community Church we are Christ-centered—it is all about our Lord Jesus Christ. For more information, check out our “Beliefs” on this website.

What does it mean to have a “traditional” or “contemporary” worship service?

Our “traditional” service offers a mix of classic hymns and songs that have been a staple of church services through the years. Our “contemporary” service drives the music up a notch to include new Christian rock and some of the traditional songs offered with a new beat. Whatever service you attend, you will be blessed with a message of Biblical truth presented in an understandable and meaningful way.

Do you have programs for the family?

We definitely do! We have high-energy programs for kids and youth. (See “Where do my kids go?”) For adults we have a variety of ministries, Bible Studies and opportunities to fellowship. There are also ongoing activities for the family announced in our “News & Events” on this website.

Where do my kids go?

Our programs for kids focus on children from infancy through age 12. We have Super Church and Super Church Preschoolers. Preschoolers worship in the Preschool building, but begin the session in the Chapel. Super Church is held in the Chapel, where the service begins with inspiring music. New? Come by the Information desk at the Sanctuary and we’ll help you get to where you need to go.

We have an active youth program with activities throughout the week. Be sure to visit our Youth ministries webpage on our website.

What can I expect for my first visit? Will you make me stand up and introduce myself? Are there any “rules” I should be aware of?

We welcome visitors and new regular attenders. Our interaction is relaxed and our people are welcoming. You will have an opportunity to let us know you came by through our welcome card and an invitation to visit our information booth at the entrance to the sanctuary. No one will single you out or press you for follow up. We open the door in invitation; you decide how and when you accept the invitation.

Come as you are and enjoy being in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ without worrying about anything else.

What should I wear?

We are an informal and friendly church. Our church is casual and we have no “dress code”. Between our two types of services you’ll find everything from sports coats and dresses to jeans and equally casual attire. Whatever you are wearing, we are happy to see you!

How does someone new to the church or the community meet people?

We have many opportunities for you to meet and fellowship with others. You’ll find that our ministries and Bible studies are small enough to encourage relationships as well as an opportunity to serve in the church and community. Check out our growing list of ministries and join in the one that suits you. You’ll find a friend in us!
