Women's Ministry
“Let your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love.” Ephesians 3:17
The Women’s Ministry at YLCC is for all ages, single or married. With our wide variety of activities and programs, there is something for everyone. As Christian women, we strive to become more like Christ, glorifying Him in everything that we do. We shine His love outwardly, reaching out to each other as sisters in Christ and helping one another in love. Through our ministry our focus is on all needs—spiritual, physical and emotional. Whatever stage of life we are in, the Women’s Ministry programs encourage us to walk closer to God in the life that we live and the work that we do. We sponsor various activities throughout the year such as Women of Virtue Conference, luncheons, bake sales, rummage sale, and more. Women’s Bible Study – Applying the Word of God to Our LivesOur Women’s Bible Study is designed to provide a place where women can feel loved and accepted while learning about God and learning to read their Bible in a new and more meaningful way. We develop relationships, share our praises and take our prayer requests before the Lord. Studying God’s Word in a small group setting offers an opportunity for establishing relationships, sharing freely in confidence and privacy, and discussing ideas. The small group leader facilitates studying God’s Word, often using study guides that allow for group interaction as well as introspective meditation. We meet every Thursday at 9:00 am till 10:30 am in the Worship Center Class Room. Childcare is available when requested. Plan on being blessed with each study that God puts in our hands. Let’s take our walk of faith to new levels and then encourage others to do the same. A.W.O.L.- A Women’s Only LuncheonAWOL brings women of the area together quarterly for fellowship with a delicious luncheon prepared at the Yosemite Lakes Club House. All women, both church members and guests, are invited to join us. Each event has a unique theme and there is always a drawing for door prizes. Average attendance is usually between 30 and 45 ladies. We meet from 11:30 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m. The cost is generally $10.50 (includes tax & tip) Check the YLCC newsletter for information on our next luncheon. MOPS - Mothers of PreschoolersMOPS is a great opportunity to meet and bond with other moms who are also going through this very challenging and often isolating stage of life. A mother of preschoolers is any mom who has a child 0-5yrs. At MOPS moms can share, encourage one another, and get a short break from “mom duty”. MOPS is an excellent opportunity for experienced moms and grandmothers to act as mentors to younger mothers. Meetings are once a month, from September to May, usually the third Wed. of the month from 9:00-11:30AM. Our meetings include breakfast and speaker presentations on topics that are relevant for all moms. The children are cared for by the Moppets program, either in a supervised nursery setting or a structured preschool program. There is a yearly registration fee of $23.95, which includes a packet of various goodies from MOPS Inter-national, plus $5.00 per meeting dues. Scholarships are available to moms in need because MOPS is for every mom.
